# Stake and Redeem

## **How does staking actually work?**

To learn how staking works in the Collective Memory app, please refer to our detailed guide:

[https://docs.collectivememory.ai/guides/staking-attn](https://docs.collectivememory.ai/guides/staking-attn)

## **Why can’t I redeem my recent stake?**

If you’re unable to redeem your staking funds, one of the following may apply:

### **1. Account or Connection Issues**

* Your account may have been temporarily blocked.
* You may be experiencing a local internet or connection issue.

Please check your connection and try again. If the issue persists, contact our support team at [**support@collectivememory.ai**](mailto:support@collectivememory.ai).

### **2. The Specific Memory Was Reported**

If you’re unable to redeem funds staked on a specific memory, the content may have been reported for:

* Fake information
* Spam
* ATTN manipulation

In this case, please contact our support team at [**support@collectivememory.ai**](mailto:support@collectivememory.ai) and include the following details:

* Your full name and country
* Your account ID or wallet address
* A direct link to the specific memory

### **Important Note**

If a memory is reported, the respective stake associated with that memory will become non-redeemable. The ATTN will remain locked within the memory to ensure that no user can profit from content that has been flagged or reported.

**Please avoid staking on fake or spam content. Doing so harms the fairness and integrity of the system and negatively impacts the entire community.**

## **What content should I stake in — and how much?**

There’s no single correct answer. Staking depends on context, quality, and culture. But here are some basic guidelines:

### **Your Responsibility When Staking**

Staking increases the memory’s visibility and rewards the creator. It also directly shapes the Top and Core feeds. When low-impact content is over-staked, it can reduce trust, confuse new users, and weaken the overall quality and credibility of the platform.

### **Recommended Staking Ranges**

**1K–4K pATTN – Everyday Content**\
Selfies, daily moments, lifestyle posts. Well-shot or meaningful memories can still perform well within this frame.

**4K–7K pATTN – Strong Content**\
High-quality visuals, strong storytelling, compelling events. Content that you think deserves to be in the Top feed. This type of content should realistically compete for Memory of the Day or Challenge winner.

To see examples, check **Top > Week** or **Top > Month** inside the app.

**7K–10K pATTN – Exceptional Content**\
Rare, high-impact, time-sensitive moments (major events, important cultural or political documentation, extraordinary access). These memories strengthen the platform’s credibility and visibility.

To see examples, check **Top > Month** or **Top > All Time** inside the app.

## **What’s the difference between Withdraw and Redeem?**

In **Collective Memory**, *Withdraw* and *Redeem* are two different actions:

**Withdraw**\
Withdrawing ATTN means converting part of your *withdrawable amount* from pATTN into ATTN.\
This turns your in-app balance (pATTN) into a blockchain token (ATTN), which you can then swap (e.g., to USDC) and use outside the app.

**Redeem**\
Redeeming is the process of collecting the profits you’ve earned through your activity (as a creator or staker).\
These profits are added to your balance as pATTN, and a portion of them becomes eligible for withdrawal.
